1.
Treatment areas should not be exposed to the sun prior to
or following treatment. For optimal results, refrain completely
from sun tanning, using tanning. beds, or self-tanning products
for 1-3 months prior to therapy. Apply a broad spectrum (U
VA/U
VB) sunscreen of SPF 15-30 on exposed areas for 4-6 weeks
before and after treatment. If you have recently tanned skin,
appointments
should be postponed until your skin returns to its normal
color.
2.
Prior to treatment, the skin should be clean and shaved. Do not
wear make-up, perfume, powder, or moisturizers on the treatment
areas. If the skin in the treatment area is broken, inflamed
or has an active infection, your appointment will have to be
rescheduled.
3.
Caution is advised for receiving laser treatment f you exhibit
hypersensitivity to hydroquinone or other bleaching agents, or
fyou have used oral isotretinoin (Accutane)
within the preceding six months.
4.
Persons with a history of keloid scar formation may be more prone
to scarring after any skin trauma, including laser treatment,
therefore caution is advised

Please note that you may be more sensitive and uncomfortable
during the procedure if you are premenstrual, tired, or taking
antibiotics.

In most cases, treatment results in a mild sunburn-like sensation
that typically disappears in 2-3 hours. Some mild redness and
minor swelling may persist for 2-3 days following treatment.
Bruising and blistering may occur. Dressings are usually not
required.
7.
The treated site should be washed gently twice a day with a mild
soap and water. Do not scratch or rub the treated area, this
can open the skin and increase the chance of scarring.
8.
Apply ice wrapped in a soft cloth if swelling occurs. Alleviate
discomfort with Tylenol or Advil. An over-the-counter hydrocortisone
cream may minimize redness and swelling.
9.
If the skin in the treated area turns brown or crusts, do not
rub, pick; or use any kind of exfoliation for 7-10 days or until
the area heals. Any crusted areas should be treated twice daily
with the application of an over-the-counter topical antibiotic
ointment such as Bacitracin or Polysporin. Do not shave the area
/ crusting is present.Avoid swimming, sports, strenuous exercise,
sauna, steam room, and whirlpools for 2-3 days following treatment.
Also, support hose should be worn for 2-3 days after treatment.

Results are usually noticeable with the first treatment. Some
of the veins will be eliminated immediately. The remaining veins
may diminish over the 2 months following treatment.
